Microsoft and Nokia is running a campaign from 26th November 2013 till 31st December 2013 to encourage developers to Update your apps or Publish New Apps.

We have great prizes to be won. Here are the different category of “Update your apps”:

  1. Competing Categories for “Update your apps”:
  • Operational
      - Major overhaul of UX/UI, including improved operation of app, improvement in speed, implementation of user feedbacks and conversion to latest OS capability such as Live Tiles, Speech, NFC, Lock-Screen, Push Notification etc.
  • Functional
      - Minor changes to app that apply functionally, such as expanding on content, additional features, improved GUI, improvement in stability, etc.
  • Minimal
      - Basic changes only, such as fixing non-working application due to neglect, addition of prompt for rating, correcting typos, etc.
2. Category for "Publish New Apps":
  • Top 11 applications utilizing Windows Phone 8 unique features such as Lock Screen, NFC, Live Tiles, Speech etc... Your idea should be appealing to a mass audience, preferably with worldwide appeal and of great potential for media and press releases. You might want to check out app campus winning applications or Windows Phone Challenges for references. Applications targeting Singapore market are greatly welcome as well.
3. Prizes for the "Update your apps" categories
  • Operational
      - SGD$300 Capital Land Voucher for best 3 Updated Apps each.
  • Functional
      - SGD$100 Challenger Voucher for best 10 Updated Apps each.
  • Minimal
      - SGD$20 Starbucks Voucher for best 50 Updated Apps each.
4. Prizes for the "Publish New Apps" categories
  • Top 3 Best Quality applications will each receive a Lumia 1520.The application needs to be submitted into the Windows Phone marketplace from 26th November 2013 to 31st December 2013. Please send link on Windows Phone store and screenshot to win8sg@microsoft.com
  • Next Top 8 will each receive a Lumia 920.The application needs to be submitted into the Windows Phone marketplace from 26th November 2013 to 31st December 2013. Please send link on Windows Phone store and screenshot to win8sg@microsoft.com
How do I participate?
  1. Developers participating in this campaign are required to send in an email to win8sg@microsoft.com in the following order.
      1. Your existing app name and screenshot before update and the proposed changes
      2. Wait for a response before proceeding with the updates
      3. Publish your updated application before 31st Dec 2013 and email us the link to the new application
6. How do I participate in the "Publish New Apps" category?
      • You do not need to inform us in advance, but do email us the link to your application to win8sg@microsoft.com before 31st December 2013. Only NEW applications published after 26th November 2013 will be accepted.
      • Existing entries for Windows Phone Challenges #3 will not be accepted.
7. Microsoft and Nokia reserve the right to judge on the eligibility of entries. Prizes available while stocks last. Competition is open to apps registered in the Singapore. cialis online
