Yesterday, Microsoft announced that students around the world will be able to access Microsoft Azure for free. Previously, students who wanted to explore Microsoft’s cloud computing platform and infrastructure would have to have had a credit card in order to sign up for the free trial. This offer can be claimed through Microsoft DreamSpark with a verified student account. Students will be able to explore the new Azure App Service and build and deploy websites and web apps using a plethora of languages such as ASP.NET, Java, PHP, Node.js and Python. Windows 10: A New Generation of Windows Windows 10 to be offered as free upgrade; group computing and holographic Windows 10 devices unveiled. REDMOND, Wash. — Jan. 21, 2015 — Microsoft Corp. on Wednesday unveiled a new generation of Windows, with a wide range of experiences designed to usher in a new era of more personal computing, as well as two new devices designed to extend the Windows experience from large screens to no screens. Windows 10 will be delivered as a service to offer a safer, innovative and updated experience for the supported lifetime of the device. Registration is right around the corner for Microsoft’s premier developer conference, Build 2015. It’s a 3-day conference held in San Francisco from the 29th of April to the 1st of May, 2015, with registration costing USD 2095 - but if you’re a student who wants to attend, you’re in luck! As long as you can provide proof that you’re a current, full-time student (at the time of Build), you’ll be eligible to get a free ticket (on a first-come-first-serve basis) to Build 2015 by registering your interest by emailing build@eventcore.com.
