It is my pleasure to introduce Luqman Hakim, also known as Lucky or ‘The Map Jockey’ to many of his friends. HERE: How did you become a HERE Map Master? Lucky: I started out by contributing to geometries and point of interests in Map Creator. I must confessed that I am quite good at doing that as my friends have given me a nick name ‘The map jockey’. HERE: Do you have any suggestions or tips for wannabe-Map Masters or aspire to eventually become a HERE Map Master? Lucky: Always have passion in what you are doing and good things will come to you. HERE: How were you introduced to the HERE Map and what was your first contribution? Lucky: I heard of the program when HERE Indonesia team visited my campus. My first contribution was on geometries and point of interest using my friend’s account. Later, I decided to create my personal account so that I can contribute on a regular basis. HERE: Who has impressed you in the HERE Expert Community Program, and why? Lucky: I am impressed with the HERE Surabaya team. I used to be an intern in the HERE Surabaya office and they were very warm and taught me many things in the map-creation process. HERE: What is your best experience so far being a Map Master and in the HERE Expert Community Program? Lucky: The most exciting experience for me would be when I participated in a field survey in Bali with another Map Master Kemala Putri and the HERE Surabaya team. We stayed in a lovely place facing the ocean and the everyday survey activities were very fun. HERE: What are some of the areas of improvement which you would like to see in the HERE Expert Community Program? Lucky: I would love to see HERE holding more University roadshows to recruit more members for the HERE Expert Community Program. I am a fresh graduate from the Faculty of Social Science, Chiang Mai University where I majored in Geography. HERE: How did you become a HERE Map Master? Supattra: I have an interest in online maps as I like to find new places and put them on the map. Back then, I was looking to join a HERE Map community program as I would like to see my edits and contributions appearing on the HERE Map. I have been with the HERE Expert Community Program for more than a year now and I spent my free time editing HERE Maps and was happy that I got awarded as a Map Master for my contributions. HERE: Do you have any suggestions or tips for wannabe-Map Masters or aspire to eventually become a HERE Map Master? Supattra: You need to have the 2 Ps – Passion and Patient. HERE: How were you introduced to the HERE Map and what was your first contribution? Supattra: I know about HERE from one of my senior who works in HERE and who was from the same Faculty as me back in my University days. My first contribution was a road edit which was something quite easy for me to do. HERE: Who has impressed you in the HERE Expert Community Program, and why? Supattra: My friends! We all shared the same passion for maps, love to edit and help put new places on the map. My friends and I are always exchanging new ideas and pushing ourselves to see how to add new places faster and more accurately. It’s like a mini competition among us which we really enjoyed and I guess the little incentives we got as part of our contribution motivated us too. HERE: What is your best experience so far being a Map Master and in the HERE Expert Community Program? Supattra: Exchanging new ideas among my peers. HERE: What are some of the areas of improvement which you would like to see in the HERE Expert Community Program? Supattra: One improvement would be real time score tracking. Khwan: My name is Khwan. I was born in Koh Samui and I am currently studying in Bangkok. HERE: How did you become a HERE Map Master? Khwan: I happened to saw an advertisement from Nokia Lumia’s Facebook fan page and this prompted me to register to become a Map Creator. I was very excited to be able to help create a map for HERE. HERE: Do you have any suggestion or tip for other members of the community who hope or aspire to eventually become a HERE Map Master? Khwan: Do it with love, with hope or just ask yourself what is your objective of mapping. It will motivate you reach the quality bar of a Map Master faster. HERE: How were you introduced to the HERE Map and what was your first contribution? Khwan: The first map that I used was the OVI maps. That is how I got to know HERE Maps. The first contribution which made/edited was my house number! HERE: Do you participate in other mapping/community activities outside of the HERE Expert Community Program? If yes, please elaborate? Khwan: After I joined HERE Maps, I also joined Google Map as a MapMaker to see the difference between the 2 maps is. Personally, I think HERE map creator is much more flexible in terms of edits as compared to the MapMaker. HERE: Who has impressed you in the HERE Expert Community Program, and why? Khwan: Map Master Ken (Worawut Khantee). He has ‘Eagle Eyes’ as he seems to be able to spot any issues on a map within a few seconds! HERE: What is your best experience so far being a Map Master and in the HERE Expert Community Program? Khawn: To be able to see something new that I’ve never seen before from satellite imagery and build up a good friendship from the HERE Expert Community. HERE: What are some of the areas of improvement which you would like to see in the HERE Expert Community Program? Khwan: One area of improvement would be to provide better/updated imageries. Nor: I’m Nor Khadzik Khoirur Rahman and I just graduated from the Faculty of Economics, Gadjah Mada University. I live in Jogjakarta, Indonesia, a famous city which is located near the Prambanan Temple and ruled by the Sultan. HERE: How did you become a HERE Map Master? Nor: I like to update any new changes into HERE map and I spend most of my time contributing to the HERE Map Creator. Apart from my quantity contribution, I also emphasized a lot on quality. I feel happy motivating the community members to join the community. HERE: Do you have any suggestion or tip for other members of the community who hope or aspire to eventually become a HERE Map Master? Nor: We need to be constantly aware of any new changes within our city/area and help add/update into HERE Map Creator once we confirmed our findings. One tip would be to focus on areas which has many point of interests/point addresses – industrial zones and residential areas would be a good place to start with. HERE: How were you introduced to the HERE Map and what was your first contribution? Nor: I am part of the Nokians Jogja Community where we actively share the HERE Expert Community Program. Through this community, that is how I came to know about HERE Map Creator and the community program. HERE: Do you participate in other mapping/community activities outside of the HERE Expert Community Program? If yes, please elaborate? Nor: Yes. I participate in Nokians Jogja – a local community for Microsoft Phone (formerly Nokia phone). In this community, we discussed regularly the features/tips and trick about Microsoft Phones and HERE Maps is one of the most popular topics among our discussion. HERE: Who has impressed you in the HERE Expert Community Program, and why? Nor: All the Map Masters! They have provided a lot of inspiration to me as they came from different background and have their own unique way in collecting information in reality. HERE: What is your best experience so far being a Map Master and in the HERE Expert Community Program? Nor: In January 2015, I was invited to the ‘Community Goes to HERE Event’ where we got to visit the HERE Jakarta Office. It was an exciting and eye-opener for me as I got to meet a lot of people and shared my community experiences with them. HERE: What are some of the areas of improvement which you would like to see in the HERE Expert Community Program? Nor: Let’s hold more Flash Mob Campaigns on a regular basis! Starting with Buses – Map Master Pasawee Boonjareonsukpisan makes commuting easier and less confusing

Thailand Map Master Pasawee Boonjareonsukpisan travels regularly on the bus. Her daily journey trips are often intertwined with commuting to school, shopping trips or other services which have become an important factor in the daily urban system. In Thailand, the bus stops and bus routes are part of the Mass Transit system which provides fast and convenience services for commuters to get around. However in Thailand, the buses don’t automatically stop at every bus stop. They stop only if someone waves them down or someone is getting off. And as the bus map location service is still unavailable in Thailand, Pasawee decided to help contribute these data for sharing purpose with the community. She feels that this will not only benefit the community, but also motivates them to want to create a HERE transit app to ease their daily commuting needs. ...
