Building Jupyter Notebooks for Interactive Programming & Analysis

Another exciting edition of ACE Microsoft Tech Talks was held in LaunchPad where Mr. Gerald Goh presented a special workshop on building building Jupyter Notebooks for interactive programming and analysis. Despite the niche topic being presented, the community responded warmly to this workshop, with over 21 individuals signing-up for the event and 15 participants attending the workshop. During the session, Gerald introduced the concepts for Jupyter, IPython, R Programming Language and F# Programming Language, and allowed the participants to apply the concepts learnt in a practical workshop to build their own Jupyter Notebooks. At the end of the session, the audience mingled over light refreshments, and connected with Gerald to find out more about the concepts taught during the session. The Global FinTech Hackcelerator 2017, powered by KPMG Digital Village, is looking for the most exciting and innovative start-ups from all over the world who can address problems faced by the financial industry. We have 100 problem statements across three focus areas: Customer-Facing, Financial Inclusion, and RegTech, and a General category. Building Smart Apps with AI at Your Fingertips at BASH Chope! Microsoft Innovation Huddle

BASH Chope! Microsoft Innovation Huddle returns to LaunchPad where we dived into building smart apps with Artificial Intelligence at your fingertips by exploring the various features of the Microsoft Cognitive Toolkit. As always, the community responded enthusiastically to the event with over 110 sign-ups and a turnout of over 60 participants comprising of startups, students, developers, and industry professionals. At the end of the session, the audience connected with Alyssa to find out more about integrating Artificial Intelligence into applications in real life scenarios. Leveraging Blockchain Technologies with Digix Global at BASH Chope! Microsoft Startup Days

After a two-month break, BASH CHOPE! Microsoft Startup Days returned to BASH with a special presentation by Mr. Shaun Djie, co-founder for Digix Global, where he shared his startup journey and how Microsoft’s technologies are helping his startup to build an asset tokenization platform on the Ethereum Blockchain, marrying the functionality and transactional utility of crypto coins with real world physical assets on the Blockchain and unlocking the store of value of physical assets to use them as a medium of exchange over the internet easily and efficiently. This event is one of our most well-received community activity in LaunchPad, attracting over 140 sign-ups and a turnout of over 100 attendees comprising of a mixture of startup, students, developers and industry professionals. The audience was highly interested in the potential of Blockchain, how distributed ledger technology is applied for digital assets, the ways in which they are utilizing Microsoft Azure Platform to build and grow their platform. ACE Microsoft Tech Talks - Building Your First Machine Learning Application

To celebrate a month of innovation in Singapore where we welcomed Innovfest unBound 2017, Tech In Asia Singapore 2017 and CommunicAsia2017, we held a special edition of ACE Microsoft Tech Talks where our community leader, Mr. James Lee, presented a workshop on building a machine learning application. Over 70 individuals sign-up for the event where 27 participants were able to attend the workshop due to limited seats available. During the session, James introduced the basics of data science and machine learning, and allowed the participants to apply the concepts learnt in a practical workshop to build their own machine learning application. At the end of the session, the audience mingled over light refreshments, and connected with James to find out more about the latest developments in machine learning and their applications in the industry.
