Free Training: Creating Applications for Windows Phone 7 using Silverlight by Chris Ismael

UPDATE: Training agenda and venue updated here – http://wp7sg.community.officelive.com/CreatingAppsforWP7UsingSilverlight.aspx

Hot on the heels of our recently successful WP7 XNA training, we are providing you with another Windows Phone 7 2-day Hands on Lab on Aug 12 – 13.  This time we’ll teach you how to create apps for WP7 using Silverlight.  We are still polishing the agenda, but you can start to register here.  (You know the drill, provide us with a good reason for us to secure you a slot Smile)

Last week, we had Uditha Bandara (XNA/DirectX MVP) from Sri Lanka conduct for us a training on creating games for WP7 using XNA.  It was very successful indeed!  We had 60 folks in Day 1 and 15 in Day 2.  Here are a few pictures from the 2-day training.

You can check out the materials Uditha used to conduct this training here.  If you have questions about XNA development for Windows Phone 7, you can reach him through the following:

We hope to have him back in Singapore soon!

One more thing, if you want to attend an XNA workshop, Singapore Polytechnic will be running an Xbox 360 Game Development Workshop using XNA Game Studio starting Aug 15 until Sept 2010 (30-hour workshop during Mon and Wed).  In this workshop, you will learn to:

  • Start programming your own 3D game and deploy it to any Xbox 360
  • Publish your own games on the Xbox LIVE Indie Games channel for sale
  • Give your games a polished look with HLSL and shaders

This is a good precursor to creating games for WP7, so we highly encourage you to sign up if you are serious about game development.

That’s all for now.  Make sure to sign up for our Silverlight development for WP7 training here!  And if you have WP7 apps running on the emulator, let me know so we can start loading them up on a test device Smile
