On 22nd March, Action Community for Entrepreneurship (ACE) celebrated the growth of the startup community by organizing the JTC Launchpad@one-north Housewarming Party to welcome over 200 new tenants in three brand new blocks in LaunchPad.
In conjunction with this celebration, it also organized a special event fo the unveiling of Startup SG and a panel discussion at ACE Ideation Centre. (For more details, refer to http://www.channelnewsasia.com/news/singapore/s-20m-to-be-set-aside-for-first-time-entrepreneurs/3615874.html).
LaunchPad currently houses over 800 startups and 50 incubators/accelerators. With the unveiling of three new blocks in LaunchPad, the startup community will grow to over 1,000 startups and 60 incubators/accelerators. To support our hub of startup activity in Singapore, a brand new umbrella branding known as “Startup SG” was launched earlier this month to unify the Singapore government’s wide range of support schemes for startups.
A budget of around S$20 million is allocated to support first-time entrepreneurs under a new scheme called “Startup SG Founder” scheme. This new scheme would replace the existing ACE Startups Grant and iJam Tier 1 grant for first-time entrepreneurs and interactive digital media startups respectively.
During the Housewarming Party, we were able to connect with various startups that have expressed a high level of interest in participating in our BizSpark Program. More importantly, we were able to demonstrate our continued support for our startup community and to reaffirm our strong commitment to the growth of the community.
Here’s a quick look at the Housewarming Party:
Special thanks to Action Community for Entrepreneurship (ACE) for organizing a successful housewarming party to celebrate the growth of our startup community!
