SHAINIEL DEO, CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

Shainiel is the CEO of Halfbrick, Australia’s most successful video game developer. He founded the company in 2001 and paved the way for Halfbrick to become an expert in handheld, casual and mobile creativity and design. Moving away from work-for-hire projects in 2007, Shainiel  focused on digital platforms and building a sustainable, independent studio with creative and financial control. He provides the vision for the future of the company and drives key acquisitions and strategic partnerships.

 

Due to worldwide success stories including Fruit Ninja and Jetpack Joyride, Halfbrick has established itself as one of the top game developers in the world and a technological powerhouse in Australia. Born in Fiji, when not working or flying around the world, Shainiel can be found fishing on the beaches around Brisbane and the Gold Coast.

PHIL LARSEN, CHIEF MARKETING OFFICER

Phil is Halfbrick’s Chief Marketing Officer, utilizing years of experience in the world of mobile and console gaming media, marketing and branding. For the past three years he has expanded Halfbrick’s self-publishing and marketing efforts across multiple digital distribution platforms, bringing Halfbrick’s games to over 300 million players around the world. He manages marketing campaigns with key storefronts and partners, and coordinates public relations, promotional events and game release strategies.

 

He is a stakeholder in all projects at the studio and works with all teams on creative design, brand positioning and intuitive monetization strategies for each game in development. Phil is a lifelong Australian, born and raised in Brisbane, home of Halfbrick’s headquarters.

 

RICHARD MCKINNY, CHIEF TECHNICAL OFFICER

Richard is Chief Technology Officer at Halfbrick, who oversees the forward momentum of Halfbrick’s technical strategies and identifies key opportunities for Halfbrick to improve its development muscle. He leads a team driving platform and engine solutions, most recently focusing on bringing Fruit Ninja and Jetpack Joyride to Windows 8 as an official gaming partner to the worldwide launch of the operating system.

 

Rich joined Halfbrick in 2009 after moving from Louisiana in the USA. His wealth of experience and superb southern recipes always give Halfbrick the energy it needs to grow bigger and better!
