The latest Windows Phone 8.1 features for your Lumia
Microsoft has just released the latest Lumia Cyan software update, which has now been rolled out to Nokia Lumia phones running on Windows Phone 8. Integrating a combination of the latest Windows Phone 8.1 update and a rich suite of unique Lumia features, the Lumia Cyan update brings new powerful experiences for existing Lumia smartphones. The new features in the Lumia Cyan update include:
- Cortana, the world’s first virtual personal and proactive assistant that is built around you. (Available first in the U.S.)
- More Live Tiles on the Start Screen, where your Start screen is now as unique as you are, with a third column of customized tiles and a start background picture to shine through your system tiles.
- Action Center, a mini dashboard where one convenient swipe takes you to your settings and notifications for your phone.
- WordFlow Keyboard, the super-fast and intuitive smartphone keyboard that saves you time and effort on your text input, all with a glide of your finger over it.
- Business Support, making your Lumia a tiny, highly efficient digital office, where work safer and easier to access on your smartphone. The new enterprise features and built-in Office allows you to communicate and collaborate seamlessly, with your information protected with full device encryption.
The Lumia Cyan update also introduces several improvements, enhancing the Lumia imaging experiences and taking smartphone photography to the next level. These unique enhancements are:
- Enhanced Nokia Camera & Renewed Camera Roll. A simplified user interface with one-tap access to edit and share pictures. You can now reframe and zoom in high resolution directly in Camera Roll.
- Updated Storyteller app & Living Images. Your Storyteller stories can now be shared on your favourite social network with an automatically created video of your best memories along with background music. Living Images can now bring your still photos to live.
- Install apps to MicroSD memory card. Frees up space on your Lumia by moving your apps to the memory card.
- Nokia Device Hub. Manages all your accessories in an easy and fun way.
Availability
The Lumia Cyan update will be available for Lumia devices running on Windows Phone 8 and is expected to become available over-the-air for the full Windows Phone 8 Lumia range in the coming weeks.
