HERE: Who are you, where are you, and what do you do?
Fiftri: I am an undergraduate majoring in Land Resources Management at the General Soedirman University (UNSOED), Purwokerto, Central Java. Currently, I am an intern and working in Indonesia’s National Institute of Aeronautics and Space.
HERE: How did you become a HERE Map Master?
Fiftri: I help to develop UNSOED Map Creator Club along with my friends and my efforts were recognized by the HERE Community team who nominated and awarded me the Map Master title.
HERE: Do you have any suggestion or tip for wannabe-Map Masters or aspire to eventually become a HERE Map Master?
Fiftri: Infuse every activity with joy and fun as this also a good opportunity and meaningful exposure for us to enrich our portfolio.
HERE: How were you introduced to the HERE Map and what was your first contribution?
Fiftri: I was introduced to HERE Map by one of my campus’s alumni who is currently working in HERE. He shared with me his interesting job on building a map and that was what inspired me to join the program.
HERE: Do you participate in other mapping/community activities outside of the HERE Expert Community Program? If yes, please elaborate?
Fiftri: I used to join KOMPASS (UNSOED’s community of mapping practitioner and surveyor), but currently the organization is inactive, so I decided to join the HERE Expert Community Program to fulfill my passion.
HERE: Who has impressed you in the HERE Expert Community Program, and why?
Fiftri: All the members in the HERE team.
HERE: What is your best experience so far being a Map Master and in the HERE Expert Community Program?
Fiftri: The most exciting experience I had was when I participated in the HERE Tour de Java program, a railroad-collecting activity throughout Java Island. Collecting the data in the field in a train was a unique experience and our mapping skills and knowledge were put to the test.
HERE: What are some of the areas of improvement which you would like to see in the HERE Expert Community Program?
Fiftri: We should try to hold regular gatherings and ongoing communication to build and foster this HERE-Map Master & community relationship.
HERE: Final words/your motto as a Map Master?
Fiftri: Travelling around Indonesia is interesting and I get to learn about the different cultures from various regions.
