Demo One: Hard Rock Cafe Memorabilia

Hard Rock Cafe is the haven for true rock n’ roll fans, offering a full rock experience through our cafes, hotels, casinos, memorabilia and music venues all over the world. They have a lot of collections of artists displayed in hard-rock cafes, hotels, casinos and etc, from Madonna’s gloves worn on The Girlie Show tour displayed in Hard Rock Cafe Cayman Islands to Queen’s “Red Speical” Guitar displayed in Hard Rock Cafe in Vegas.
There is a special item in this collection to demonstrate the power of Silverlight Deep Zoom technology. It is the 13th item on the fourth row. You will see one envelope there with four letters. That’s Item 043311- Paul McCartney – The Beatles Letter from Paul and Beatles autographs. Below are the screen shots of zoom-in effects.
You could zoom till you see the last picture displayed above. Deep Zoom technology is very different from traditional zoom-in. It will bring in new level of details while you zoom into the pictures. It brings users brand new experiences!
Demo Two: Winston Churchill Deep Zoom
http://1940.iwm.org.uk/?page_id=527
This is the online Silverlight version of a spectacular standalone Deep Zoom exhibit, currently on show in the Churchill War Rooms in Whitehall, featuring hundreds of pictures of Winston Churchill as well as unique video and audio content. Personally, I feel this is truly a creative way to interact with people who are interested in history.
Here are some screen shots for Churchill Deep Zoom. I encourage you to try it yourself and don’t miss all the interesting videos.
Demo Three: Silverlight PivotViewer
You can download Pivot- Microsoft Live Lab here and start to play with it.
The Silverlight PivotViewer makes it easier to interact with massive amounts of data on the web in ways that are powerful, informative, and valuable. PivotViewer lets us present thousands of things at once and visualize them in a way that exposes value from the group. PivotViewer experiences range in complexity to build. All involve the creation of a collection. PivotViewer is now available for you to begin building and embedding your collections directly onto your webpage.
