Starting with Buses – Map Master Pasawee Boonjareonsukpisan makes commuting easier and less confusing by Lilian Quek

Thailand Map Master Pasawee Boonjareonsukpisan travels regularly on the bus. Her daily journey trips are often intertwined with commuting to school, shopping trips or other services which have become an important factor in the daily urban system. In Thailand, the bus stops and bus routes are part of the Mass Transit system which provides fast and convenience services for commuters to get around.

However in Thailand, the buses don’t automatically stop at every bus stop. They stop only if someone waves them down or someone is getting off. And as the bus map location service is still unavailable in Thailand, Pasawee decided to help contribute these data for sharing purpose with the community. She feels that this will not only benefit the community, but also motivates them to want to create a HERE transit app to ease their daily commuting needs.

The data details the transit service route and stops which allows commuters to search which bus stop they should alight and board and this helps eliminates their chances of getting lost, going the wrong way or overshooting their stop.

For her effort – Pasawee has created more than 1600+ bus stops (accounting for ~15% of the bus stops in Bangkok) based on her travelling experience and reference to website for the naming purpose.

For now, Pasawee’s goal is to continue to add these data and share it with the Thailand community.

The HERE Expert Community Program wants to thank you for your effort put into your idea!
