Importance of continuous feedback to Business Decision Makers Involvement of stakeholder throughout the project mitigates one of the most consistent problems on software projects: What they will accept at the end of the project differs from what they told us at the beginning.Getting the right feedback at the right time from the right individuals can determine the success or failure of a project or application.Visual Studio provides Storyboarding, a powerful way for the stakeholders to share their ideas and goals in visual format that development teams can more easily understand and avoid costly reworks.

Building a Quality Application through Continuous Integration Continuous Integration is a software development best practice where developers integrate their changes to code more frequently – every time they check their code into the source control server. Teams can include automate tests such as unit test, code analysis, etc. as a part of the build process and define quality gates. Changes that fail to pass the quality gate can be marked as failures. This helps the development teams to shorten the build time, catch and fix errors quickly and improve the quality of software. The effort of implementing continuous integration can be significant depending on the size of your project. Visual Studio ALM with a set of integrated toolsets makes it easy for development team to effectively adopt continuous integration and testing. The toolsets include version control, build, test, deployment to a lab environment, work item tracking, and the data warehousing functionality.

Delivery Right - Dev Ops As An Imperative Process Continuous Delivery extends the idea of continuous integration and testing further to include deployment. This practice aims to solve the gap that often exist between the development and operations team. Development departments are usually driven by user needs for frequent delivery of new features while Operations departments focus more on availability, stability of IT services and IT cost efficiency. These two contradicting goals create a “gap” between the teams which slows down IT’s delivery of business value. Business demand for an increased rate of production releases, faster time to market and the increasing adoption of virtualization and cloud infrastructure are some of the key drivers that makes DevOps an imperative process within the application lifecycle . In today’s world, this integration for delivering continuous value is crucial as it allows a natural way to implement a continuous feedback loop between the development and operations functions.Microsoft Visual Studio ALM and Microsoft System Center deliver an integrated and hybrid IT capable Modern ALM solution with Enterprise DevOps capabilities. Using the Microsoft solution, organizations can implement and realize the value benefits of the Enterprise DevOps practices.
