Be part of the Windows 8 Hackathon in Singapore, a one-day event focused on hardcore hacking of your Windows 8 Metro Style apps! Join us for a low-key, informal day of coding. Don’t worry, plenty of coffee will be available. We will start off with introductions and then quickly go into hack-mode so that you can work on your app. At the end of the day, you can show off your app in its current state (no worries, we are all friends here!) and then find out how to get your app into the Windows Store. Please note that attendees of the Windows 8 Hackathon will be given priority for registration to the Windows 8 Application Excellence Lab. You will need to attend an Application Excellence Lab in order for your Windows 8 Metro Style app to be one of the first from Canada in the Windows Store! The theme for this Hackathon is I <3 SG. Participants should come with their own laptops, preinstalled with Windows 8 RP (Mac users – Boot Camp), Microsoft Visual Studio & Expression Blend.

All apps submitted belongs to developer
Detailed scoring and breakdown will be sent to participants by 30th June.
Reasons for failing App Store submission will be made known to participants.

What do participants need to bring? A Metro Style Application Idea If you haven’t already started coding your app, please come prepared with at least one idea for a Windows 8 Metro Style application. Take full advantage of the experts that will be on hand! Hardware Any device capable of running Windows 8 Consumer Preview and Visual Studio Express We recommend that you install the necessary software prior to the event. If it is not already installed, you will need a partition with ~30 GB of free space to install the bits.
