The second edition of “Microsoft Startup Days” was held on 2nd November at BASH (LaunchPad, 79 Ayer Rajah Crescent), featuring BiTS who was founded by Jonathan Lee. During the one-hour session, they shared their entrepreneurial journey to deliver a set of solutions to businesses looking to modernize while also being less than a fraction of the market cost. They also explained how they are leveraging on Microsoft BizSpark Program and Microsoft Azure Platform to propel and accelerate their growth.
Despite the rainy weather, we welcomed over 25 participants comprising of a mixture of startup founders, students, developers and industry professionals. The audience was highly interested in the business model of BiTS and how they improved scalability, resource management and security through Azure. They also talked about their startup journey and how BizSpark has supported them to build traction and gain customer trust.
Here are some key points which they covered during this session
- Azure is a great platform with many services and resources which allow you to build and research.
- The importance of continuous integration to minimize downtime.
- The importance of recognizing and showing appreciation for team efforts.
- Making use of big data to improve the data validation process.
At the end of their talk, many guests were interested about the Microsoft BizSpark Program and Microsoft Azure Platform as the offerings were very attractive for startups. Not only does BizSpark provide monthly Azure credits over the span of 3 years, startups benefit from the cost offset of having to purchase Microsoft product keys as well as technical guidance on how to fully optimize the benefits for their startups.
Jonathan and the BiTS team also answered many questions from the audience pertaining to their business.
