The Microsoft Build Developer conference was held in San Francisco on 29 April – 1 May 2015, where many interesting and cool things were announced. TL;DR, here’s a quick summary on how Microsoft is welcoming you to Windows 10:

Windows Store for Consumers, Businesses and Developers

store

The Microsoft team demonstrated many new features and exciting ways to develop on the platform and publish apps to the Windows Store. Developers can now write their code once and easily distribute their application to the entire Windows 10 family, which includes PCs, Phones/Mobile, Xbox, IoT devices, Surface Hub and even the extremely exciting Microsoft Hololens. Also, businesses are also able to easily distribute specific apps from the Store, or private line-of-business apps to their employees.

Universal Windows Platform

Features such as Cortana, Xbox Live can be easily integrated into the applications, based on the unique capabilities of each device. Continuum is a feature which allows Windows 10 to transition between a PC or tablet mode.
